Tafseer: Surah An Noor
Ustaz Nouman Ali Khan
Masjid Wilayah
///
Section 1 of the Surah
Tawbah (removing bad deeds, replacing them w/ good ones) is so strong that no other compensation is needed afterwards
Tawbah is not for someone INTENDING to make a mistake (mistakes done in the past are ok)
We, as a society, we don't forgive ppl. Allah forgives ppl
Why is stoning (to death) not in the Quran?
A man came into a masjid & declared out loud to Rasulullah of how he has committed zina (4x); requesting for a 'purification'- of which, should be via tawbah. Rasulullah dismissed him
(Certain) ppl are desired; insistent towards punishment- and are too emotional about their mistakes (even of the fact that Allah & Allah's messenger aren't inclined to punish them in the ways they "desire")
The heart's in the right place- the mind, is not
"Some ppl's hearts, you just can't satisfy"
Tawbah is about sincerity (in the heart)- and not solely sacrifice
A man (e.g.) who sees his wife in zina w/o 4 witnesses should testify 4 times
Nusyuz is when the husband is AFRAID the wife would turn disloyal (and not when he's UPSET)- he needs to be sure; he cannot hit the wife as he wills:
Gradually act- give naseeha, sleep separately etc
Men will act unaccordingly when upset- this needs to proceed only when the wife MAY have other commitments
Fear Allah-
To take revenge afterwards would probably kill the anger etc but if you forgive, as it is always better, it brings you closer to taqwa
"If I am not telling the truth, then Allah's curse be upon me"

"Sometimes silence says a lot more than speech does"
